Our governance
On January 14, 1986, François-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) tragically lost his life during a helicopter mission in the Malian desert. In 1989, his parents Albina du Boisrouvray and Bruno Bagnoud, his family and friends founded the first FXB Foundation (dissolved in 2019) and the NGO Association François-Xavier Bagnoud to continue his life-saving work and perpetuate the values of generosity and compassion that guided his life.
The FXB Global Foundation embodies the vision, cohesion and integrity of FXB values worldwide. It brings together all the achievements and organizations bearing the FXB acronym or the François-Xavier Bagnoud name since 1989, in order to protect their integrity and reputation, and avoid anything that could be detrimental to them. Its ethics committee ensures the quality and relevance of the activities initiated. This committee, made up of representatives from the head offices of FXB Switzerland, FXB France and FXB USA, ensures that FXB's fundamental values are respected and that its strategy is implemented. Its members are Albina du Boisrouvray, Stanislas Pottier, Didier Cherpitel, Diana Phillips, Christine Eggs, Alon Kasha, Mark Lloyd, Christian Nouel, Benjamin Pourrat, Jean Porrini.

Our ethical commitment
Protection Policy against Abuse of Power
FXB operates in rural and peri-urban areas in the countries where it operates, in marginalized and/or isolated zones where particularly vulnerable populations live, both economically and socially.
In this fragile context, it is essential to recognize the power dynamics that govern relationships and to prevent any abuse. FXB's Protection against Abuse of Power Policy (PPAP) is the frame of reference for this vigilance.
Ethics charter
It defines the ethical values and standards of conduct to which all FXB employees must adhere.
Our unwavering commitment is to uphold a reputation based on integrity, fairness and honesty, principles that all our stakeholders can trust.

Our expertise
We're convinced that what can't be measured can't be improved. That's why FXB has set up a rigorous monitoring and evaluation system, developed and refined by our teams in the field, in collaboration with specialists and experts from the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University.
In addition, since the early 2000s, the FXBVillage poverty reduction model has been regularly evaluated by external organizations such as the Human Sciences Research Council (South Africa), the Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative (UK), the Group'-Consultants Mutualisés Experts du Secteur Solidaire (France) and researchers from the Universities of Pennsylvania and Harvard (USA). A significant positive impact on the economic, health and social status of children and adults has been demonstrated.
