FXB Foundation - Community life in Valais
Valais is one of Switzerland's 26 cantons. It lies in the south-west of the country, straddling the Valais, Lepontine, Uri and Bernese Alps. Its emblem consists of thirteen red and white stars, symbolizing the canton's thirteen districts. The Rhône rises here and flows through a valley dominated by high mountain ranges to Lake Geneva.
This region occupies an important place in the programs of the first François-Xavier Bagnoud Foundation, because he came from there and felt a deep attachment to the Valais and its inhabitants, who reciprocated in kind.
The aim of the François-Xavier Bagnoud Foundation has been to support various aspects of community life, such as rescue - in all its forms - education, culture, sport and heritage.
