Valais is one of the 26 cantons of Switzerland. It is located in the southwest of the country, on horseback between the Valais Alps, the Lepontine Alps, the Urana Alps and the Bernese Alps. Its emblem consists of thirteen red and white stars symbolizing the thirteen districts of the canton. The Rhone flows into a valley dominated by high mountain ranges to Lake Geneva.
This region occupies an important place in the programs of the first François-Xavier Bagnoud Foundation, because it was originally founded and had a deep attachment to the Valais and its inhabitants, who made it good for it.
