FXB Foundation - Other contributions in Valais

Since 1990 and for over fifteen years, the FXB Foundation has supported the annual budget of the Schola des Petits Chanteurs de Notre-Dame de Sion. Founded in 1926, this choir groups together some 80 singers, most of them children. As an independent, non-profit music school, it continues a centuries-old tradition inherited from the children's choirs of the early Middle Ages in the West. These schools provided a general education for children from modest backgrounds, in exchange for their participation in sacred chants during church services. Thanks to the support of the FXB Foundation, the Schola has been able to develop high-level musical training and innovate by creating a small and a large girls' choir.

THE SCHUBERTIADES IN SION

In 1990, the FXB Foundation subsidized the " Les Schubertiades" classical music festival in Sion.

In 1991, the FXB Foundation provided part of the funds needed to purchase and renovate the Foyer François-Xavier Bagnoud in Salvan. This home belongs to the Association des Amis de Rives du Rhône. Today, it is a residential unit of AddictionValais, with 15 beds, and is oriented towards abstinence using the experiential education approach. A community-based model with a proven track record, it offers beneficiaries the chance to regain their autonomy and health in a holistic manner, free from addictive behavior. Its services are open to people aged 17 and over.

Since 1991, the aim of this fund has been to provide financial assistance to mountain guides - domiciled in the canton of Valais - who are unable to work due to an accident. This support can also be granted to their families. This aid serves to bridge the gap between the time of the accident and the payment of social security benefits.

The FXB Foundation has taken numerous initiatives to promote tennis in Valais, notably with the construction in 1991 of the FXB Hall at the Tennis-Club Valère in Sion, which houses four courts. The FXB Tennis Team, created in 1988 and managed by the Valais Tennis Association, has for many years supported talented young players, notably Natacha and Dally Randriantéfy, as they progress to the highest level.

In November 1991, the FXB Foundation donated 27,000 copies of Derib's JO comic strip to the canton of Valais to raise awareness of AIDS prevention among young people aged 14 to 20. The aim of this initiative was to encourage dialogue between students and teachers, parents and children, as well as between young people themselves.

INFRARED NIGHT VISION SYSTEM

In 1991, the FXB Foundation donated an infrared night vision system to Air-Glaciers to improve the efficiency and safety of emergency helicopter flights at night.

STUDY SCHOLARSHIP

In 1992, the FXB Foundation awarded Benoît Darbellay a scholarship to study for his helicopter license. Benoît was a pilot with Air-Glaciers until his tragic death in 2005.
