Evaluation of the Vocational Training Program in Myanmar

Myanmar

This evaluation focuses on the vocational training program implemented by FXB in Myanmar, which aims to sustainably improve access to employment and livelihoods for vulnerable youth. Against a backdrop of successive economic, health, and political crises, the program serves as a concrete response to the growing need for vocational skills and resilience among the most marginalized populations.

The evaluation aims to analyze the relevance, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability of the program over the 2017–2023 period. In particular, it examines the alignment of training programs with labor market needs, the quality of their implementation, and the results achieved in terms of employment placement and improvements in beneficiaries’ living conditions. It is based on a mixed-methods approach combining a literature review, interviews with stakeholders, and surveys of beneficiaries.

Beyond measuring outcomes, this evaluation also aims to draw operational lessons to enhance the program’s quality and impact in a constantly changing environment, where skills development is a key driver for fostering young people’s economic independence and resilience.
