A national recognition award for FXB Mongolia

Posted on 3 October 2017

FXB Mongolia supports communities living in poverty, including herder families, orphans and vulnerable children. In 2016, FXB Mongolia started a Community Development Program FXBVillage in the Dornogobi Aimag, located in the Gobi desert, aimed at preventing mass migration to the capital city. This program is therefore benefitting over 500 people living in precarious conditions, leading them towards social and economic independence.

On 2nd October 2017, FXB Mongolia received a trophy called “Mongolian Quality” and the Program Manager, Erdenetuya Jambal, was granted the medal of “Best Manager” by the “National business and development committee” in Ulaanbataar.

Every two years, the company announces the best organizations. In 2015, it rewarded public schools and this year 2017 the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Mongolia.

During 2 months the committee surveyed all NGOs working in Mongolia based on criteria such as process of working, Mongolian law and financial reports. With these two certificates, FXB Mongolia is now one of the best NGOs across the country.

The strategy developed by the FXB Mongolia team for 18 months has already contributed to the development of self-esteem, the improvement of the psychosocial status of the participants through a good management of problems related to alcoholism, disability, unemployment or family crises, the marked improvement in hygiene conditions, the improvement of health in general, as well as the increase in the attendance rate at primary and secondary schools. The development of micro-enterprises is a challenge in this desert region, both in terms of climate and economy, but many income generating activities have already taken place, such as mechanic and confection, bakeries, a mobile restaurant, greenhouses cultivation, or second-hand clothing and blankets.
